The case involves Sangeetha Veg Hotels taking legal action against their former franchisee for using a similar name, 'Geetham Veg,' for their hotels and Sangeetha Veg Hotels has got an interim injunction granted in their favour in the case, and the court ruled that their former franchisee cannot use the name 'Geetham Veg' for their hotels.
Sangeetha Veg Restaurant is a Chain of Signature vegetarian Indian Restaurants, a group headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
The first restaurant was opened in 1985 at Parry’s Corner in Chennai by Mr. Padmanabhan Suresh and later the second outlet was opened by Mr Rajagopal with the support and guidance of Mr Suresh, the restaurant was opened in 1990 in Mylapore. Over the last three decades, the dynamic duo have been instrumental in developing the brand across Namma Chennai and worldwide. They are now being supported by their Next Gen entrepreneurs Ms. Sanjana Suresh and Mr. Anirudh Rajagopal.
Currently, Sangeetha has grown exponentially into more than 30 units in Chennai and around 21 units abroad. The restaurants are both ownership and franchisee model-driven.
